Flying Lotus - Coronus, The Terminator - video - Young Replicant

A darkly beautiful video for this restless hymn to the inevitable and unknowable. There is always danger in attaching narratives to music particularly when the principal strength of that music is a timeless resistance to easy resolution. These images create a tension between tactitily and elusiveness which mirrors the drift and click of the piece. Neatly skirting trite explanations the video unfurls in multiple directions, tickling exotic ideas, nourishing the music's hovering dreamscape. It would have been easy to freight this track with dumb eye-candy but infinitely less satisfying.
